Align Spine Center treats patients of all ages with any spine (neck and back) related conditions- from the child with scoliosis to the mother with arthritis, the athlete with herniated discs, to the grandmother with compression fractures, the desk worker with sciatica to the laborer with chronic neck/back pain, the cancer survivor with spine involvement to the everyday person with disc degeneration. Although surgeons are trained to help “fix” spine conditions through surgery, the physicians at the Spine and Pain Institute are committed to healing utilizing the most non-invasive methods and modalities.

We understand that the majority of patients with spine related issues do not need surgery as an initial treatment. Depending on the severity of the condition, patients can often times be treated with non-operative methods including therapy type modalities. These methods include physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, and medications such as anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, and sometimes narcotics. In addition, injection therapies such as epidurals and facet blocks, may be of benefit as well. Often, there is much benefit associated with rest and general activity modification.

If these modalities are not sufficient in providing adequate relief from symptoms, then our physicians may discuss surgical options that might better benefit the patient. Our surgeons are experienced at advanced surgical methods including smaller outpatient surgical procedures as well as larger more complex conditions requiring reconstruction. Whenever possible, our surgeons apply the latest techniques that result in minimal tissue disruption and quicker recovery, therefore optimizing the patient experience and outcome. The majority of our surgeries are performed with techniques that do not involve hospitalization.
